GC Digital Showcase 2021 – Call for Proposals

GC Digital Showcase

Date: Thursday, May 13, 2021

Time: 6:30 – 8:30 PM

Location: Zoom (link to follow)

The GC Digital Showcase is an annual event featuring interdisciplinary digital scholarship produced by graduate students, digital fellows, working groups, classes, and programs across The Graduate Center, CUNY. We invite you to share your work with the Digital GC community and to forge new connections with other students, faculty, administrators, and staff. For the second year, GC Digital Initiatives will host this virtual event via Zoom, which will offer a supportive and generative space to present and to receive feedback about your work.

All students enrolled at the Graduate Center are invited to submit a proposal and can submit multiple proposals for multiple projects, if applicable. Presentations will be 3 minutes long, and presenters can submit up to 3 slides in advance. Projects presentations can represent work at any stage of development from proposal through completion.

What kinds of projects do students typically present? Some projects in the past have included: digital archives, data analysis and visualization, mapping projects, open educational resources, digital tools to support pedagogy, websites, digital editions, participatory research projects that use digital tools, and much more.

The event will begin with a showcase of digital projects from the MA in Digital Humanities Praxis seminar class, followed by a five minute intermission and then series of 3-minute and 3-slide presentations and with a brief discussion to follow.

If you would like to share your project, please submit your proposal by April 30, 2021 to http://cuny.is/showcase-cfp21.

Questions and comments can be directed to Lisa Rhody, deputy director of GC Digital Initiatives at lrhody@gc.cuny.edu.
