CUNY Academic Commons
Founded in 2009, the CUNY Academic Commons is an online, academic social network for faculty, staff, and graduate students of the City University of New York (CUNY) system. Designed to foster conversation, collaboration, and connections among the 23 individual colleges that make up the university system, the site has quickly grown as a hub for the CUNY community, serving in the process to strengthen a growing group of digital scholars, teachers, and open-source projects at the university.

Manifold
Manifold is an intiutive, collaborative, open-source publishing platform for interactive scholarly monographs developed by a team of CUNY faculty, staff and students. Manifold is a collaboration between University of Minnesota Press, the GC Digital Scholarship Lab at the Graduate Center, CUNY, and Cast Iron Coding.

Data For Public Good
A joint project between GCDI and the library, “Data for Public Good” fellows select public-interest datasets and work together to create a project that makes the dataset useful and informative to a public audience. Participants will work with project advisers and benefit from hands-on experience working on an open-ended problem in order to improve their familiarity and competency with Python, R, Ruby or other programming language. They will learn skills such as project management, project design, and collaborative coding, and by the end of the semester be able to present their work to the GC community at the GC Digital Showcase.

Digital Humanities Research Institute
Currently funded by a National Endowment for the Humanities grant, the Digital Humanities Research Institute (DHRI) is a ten-day residential workshop held from June 11–20, 2018, hosted by Graduate Center Digital Initiatives and The Graduate Center, CUNY. Through hands-on workshops, sixteen participants explored interdisciplinary digital humanities research and teaching with leading DH scholars. Over the following academic year, each participant will develop their own local Institute. From June 17-18, 2019, participants return to report on their experiences. DHRI is based on the curricula and pedagogy developed for GCDI’s local Digital Research Institute held annually in January.

DH Box
DH Box is a laboratory in the cloud that can be deployed quickly and easily. It’s simply accessed from any computer as long as you’ve got an internet connection and some contextual knowledge. Ready-to-go configurations of Omeka, NLTK, IPython, R Studio, and Mallet are included in the DH Box platform.

Commons In A Box
Commons In A Box is an open source project that grew out of the CUNY Academic Commons and aims to turn its infrastructure into a free, distributable, easy-to-install package. Commons in a Box takes the complexity out of creating a Commons site, helping organizations create a space where members can discuss, collaborate, and share.
