DH Box

DH Box was a pioneering digital humanities platform that served as a cloud-based laboratory, incorporating ready-to-run configurations of OmekaNLTKIPythonR Studio, and Mallet. This praxis-oriented platform enabled educators and students to instantaneously access and deploy a digital humanities lab environment, effectively bridging the gap between digital tools and classroom learning.

DH Box was conceived and developed by CUNY faculty, students and librarians. It aimed to foster a deeper engagement with digital humanities by removing technical barriers, and was an early foray into humanities-oriented cloud platforms. Though the project has concluded, it continues to inspire new work.
