The Manifest-No is a declaration of commitments for feminist data studies. It refuses harmful data regimes and commits to new data futures. It was crafted by attendees of a “Feminist Data Studies Workshop” hosted by the Institute for Research on Women and Gender (IRWG) at the University of Michigan and organized by Marika Cifor and Patricia Garcia. It is deeply rooted in the long genealogy of intersectional feminist thinking and praxis, of which critical refusal has been a powerful tool for opening up and insisting on radical and alternate futures.
