Closely affiliated with the Graduate School’s Ph.D. Program in Educational Psychology, the Center for Advanced Study in Education is comprised of a consortium of researchers, scholars, and students within and outside of CUNY who are dedicated to producing improvements in educational programs and students’ lives. Directed by Dr. Deborah Hecht, CASE conducts basic and applied research with a focus on improving the quality of education K-16. In addition to our work with schools and school systems, the center serves as a forum for consideration of policy issues, as a center for interdisciplinary approaches to educational problems, and as a clearinghouse in areas of educational research and evaluation.
Funding for CASE projects originates with private industry, foundations, and city, state and federal agencies. CASE’s work is national and international in scope.
