Websites have become a critical tool in academic scholarship. From a personal website or the site for an academic event to a public facing project such as a digital archive, websites are a tool we all can explore. Being able to create websites or participating as an author on an existing one is, therefore, an ability we all can take advantage of. In this workshop you will learn the basics of WordPress, one of the most common tools for websites, on CUNY Academic Commons, our institutional free space. At the end of the workshop you will be able to move comfortably on WordPress to create a new website, understand how to create pages and blogposts. The workshop will follow a hybrid model: we will first have an online workshop on Zoom. Two weeks later we will have an in-person hands on session for everyone to explore the tool in person. Additionally, you can use the DF consultations as personal follow up for questions on your own project across the year.
