Data About Data: Best Practices for Metadata

April 7 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Why care about metadata? In digital humanities, metadata can describe our objects of study, helps us find relevant information, shape how we understand or present our topics, and more. This workshop will discuss ethical issues with metadata re-use and creation, provide an overview of common metadata standards, and introduce tools for cleaning and manipulating metadata.

Registration for workshops is limited to students, faculty, and staff who are affiliated with the CUNY Graduate Center. Please note that you might need to log in to CUNY Academic Commons to be able to RSVP.
