The Digital Project Working Groups are designed to bring together and support communities of CUNY students, faculty, and staff who are interested in or working on similar projects. Our goal is to create collaborative communities of Digital Fellows, CUNY graduate students, and faculty to meet regularly and share their areas of interest. The Working Groups provide a sustained, supportive environment to learn new skills, share old skills, and collaborate with both the Digital Fellows and the CUNY digital community.
We currently facilitate the following Working Groups:
-
GC Humanidades Digitales (aka DH in Spanish): Inspired by conversations from a joint Mina Rees Library / GC Digital Initiatives conversation on March 23, 2018, this group is a collaborative endeavor to improve the resources, information, and community around humanidades digitales (or DH in Spanish) at the CUNY Graduate Center and beyond.
- GIS/Mapping Working Group: This working group is designed to bring together people of all levels who are interested in mapping using GIS software. This will be a space to collaborate and learn from each other in order to represent and interpret data using mapping and GIS tools. Expertise on different open-source or proprietary platforms is welcome.
To join, navigate to the Commons group from the hyperlinked text above and click join!
(If you’re not already a member of the CUNY Academic Commons, you’ll first need to create a Commons account).
The Digital Projects Working Groups are open to all CUNY graduate students and faculty who are interested in attending! All Working Groups follow the same operating style and format, ensuring that the participants who attend each working group have an opportunity to voice things they would like to learn, to discuss, or to teach in that particular session. Additional Working Groups will be added as different interest groups emerge.
