Introduction to GitHub: A Cross-Disciplinary Tool

November 11 @ 4:15 pm - 6:00 pm

ITP Skills Lab: Do you write, code, or simply juggle multiple versions of a project? Do you collaborate with others across fields, from digital humanities to computer science, from research writing to creative projects? GitHub is more than just a tool for programmers: it is a platform for organizing, backing up, and sharing work of all kinds. In this lab, you’ll be introduced to the basics of version control with git and GitHub, and you’ll see how these tools can support projects that range from data analysis to literary editions. By the end, you’ll understand how GitHub helps streamline workflows, foster collaboration, and ensure your work remains accessible, traceable, and reusable across disciplines.
