GC Digital Initiatives invites applications for the third GC Digital Research Institute (GC DRI) on January 17-20, 2017, from 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM daily. This program builds on the success of previous digital research intensives, including the GC Digital Research Institutes held in January and June 2016.

GC DRI offers graduate students, faculty, and staff at the Graduate Center an opportunity to develop digital research skills and to connect with others in an interdisciplinary environment. The week will begin with an introduction to the command line, git, Python, and databases for all students; participants will then have the opportunity to choose from a variety of more specific workshops on topics ranging from using APIs to the Natural Language Toolkit to machine learning.

The application will be open until 11:59pm on November 30th; however, we recommend that interested participants apply early, as space is limited.

Thanks to the sponsorship of the Provost’s Office, participation is free of charge, but application is required. Programming has been developed in consultation with our partner Software Carpentry.
